Before we left for Mexico we worked with Chris and Claire to set up a customized trip for our extended family of 9. We chose to snorkel with the turtles and visit two cenotes. The were very responsive and it was easy to set up. Chris and the driver, Alan picked us up at our resort at 8am. This got us to Akumal before it got crowded and we were swimming with the turtles in no time. I'm glad we got a chance to do this because it was a very unique experience. I have snorkeled in a lot of different places in the Caribbean, but never with turtles like this.

We snorkled in a bay with green turtles and Chris was wonderful, patient with our group of all levels of experience. Then on to the cenotes, which was definitely a highlight!! Crystal clear water, formations overhead and bats hunkered down or ting around!! It was awesome!! So fun and Chris added his humor, knowledge and even with some more tentative in our group he made everyone feel comfortable and safe.

I'm so glad that we were able to book this excursion last minute! We did the Tulum tour, cenote snorkel, and sea turtle snorkel trip. Claire responded very quickly to my inquiry and was extremely professional and knowledgeable. There was a mix of beginners and experienced "tourists" in our group of 5 and everyone was really impressed with our day of activities. My husband and I had previously toured Tulum with with a large group several years ago, and we were less than impressed with our previous experience- this time it was the exact opposite! With this your we were one of the first people to enter Tulum which allowed for an almost private tour, the same can be said for the cenote swim. We only encountered one other group of snorkelers the entire hour that we were in the water, IT WAS AMAZING!! After swimming in the cenote we ate a delicious lunch at a Mayan restaurant, before heading to Akumal to swim with the turtles. We were able to see several sting rays and turtles and even even a very large starfish. Overall it was a fantastic day!! I will definitely use this company again next time I'm in Playa!

The turtles were beautiful and much larger than we expected! Unfortunately, they aren't in an area that is very pretty, so you're really seeing only turtles, not many other fish or coral. The cenote snorkel trip was amazing!!! Claire pointed out so many interesting parts of it and including lots of bats! The water is cold so you'll need to use the wet suit they offer you! Such a cool experience. Afterwards, we went and had lunch at an authentic Mexican restaurant. Very good food! We definitely recommend Absolute Adventure!!!

My wife and I recently visited Mexico for the second time. Last year, we didn't leave the hotel (too much sunbathing and cocktails!), so we wanted to see some of the areas of interest. Originally we wanted to swim with dolphins, so we looked into visiting a dolphinarium or Xel-Ha. However, after reading a lot online about how dolphins and other marine life are being kept in captivity for the purpose of entertaining tourists (this happens worldwide not just in Mexico), we decided to skip this kind of thing. I began looking for a local company (we stayed at Ocean Maya Royale so close to Playa Del Carmen) that could help us visit some historical sites, as well as provide the chance to see some marine life in the wild.

Toured chichen itza, cenotes x 2, restaurant in valladolid. All day affair that was awesome. Ruins amazing cenotes very cool, meal excellent. Absolutely worth it. Comfortable van. No big douchey tour bus. Jose at chichen extremely knowledgeable. Arturo also super smart, friendly and fun. Ervin drove and was great. Booking etc all a breeze. All in all worth it.

We did the trip to Coba and swimming in a cenote which was a really great combination of culture and nature. Off to Coba first which is an amazingly impressive site. Our guide Claire who was with us all day took a local guide, Pedro, when we got there which meant that we got the maximum information about the complex. We explored the excavated areas near the entrance first and then took a tricycle ride to the large 'pyramid' where we climbed to the top. It really is a place you could go back to time after time as more is excavated and put on public display. Then off to the cenote for a swim. The one Claire chose was quite far off the main road but that meant that in the whole cave there was only ourselves an one other small party of people. The rock formations were stunning and it was great having the bats flying around us too. We ended with a late lunch of real Mexican food which was well earned and delicious. I can't recommend the experience highly enough

We booked multiple activities with Absolute Adventure Mexico. We started with diving in the Cenotes. My husband is a very experienced diver but this was out of my comfort zone at first. Chris was fantastic and patient with me and once we were down there is was an incredible experience. We Then spent a couple of days diving in Akumal and then Cozumel. Claire is fantastic to dive with. Our dives were comfortable and at a pace that allowed us to really enjoy the dive and not feel rushed to get it over with. We then planned a trip to snorkel with the whale sharks. We had other family members that wanted to come with us so they were able to change our plans with short notice to accommodate a group of 15 instead of 2. Claire and Chirs gave us a very private family experience that was unforgettable. We brought our own dive gear and they were able to take care of it in between trips so that we did not have to keep hauling it back and forth to the hotel. This has been my favorite diving experience thus far. We will be returning to dive with Absolute Adventure Mexico in the near future.

We found this private tour company through its stellar reviews on Trip Advisor. I corresponded with Claire - who co-owns the company with her business partner Christ - via email several times. She was very responsive and answered all of our questions. There were four in our group: my wife and I are 38, and our two boys are 11 and almost 6.

My family of 4. (mom, dad, & sons 13&9 years old) visited Playa del Carmen. I was looking for a exclusion in the area. I came across AAM on trip advisor. I contacted them via their website. Claire got back to me same day with questions such as: ages, 1/2 or full day, and the basics of what we were looking for. She helped me pick our adventure of ATVing, Zip lining, and going into a Cenote. She helped me pick the date based on ours and their availability. About a week before our trip Claire emailed and confirmed everything. Day before the excursion Caire contacted me to ask if we could go a half hour earlier so we could beat the rush.

Our family of 10 decided to try snorkeling with turtles with Absolute Adventures and it proved to be a wonderful experience. Email communication with Claire to arrange the excursion was prompt and thorough. Claire was a very professional, friendly, organized and knowledgeable guide. We left early to beat the crowds and this proved to work perfectly and allowed us to snorkel before the crowds started and see a lot of turtles, stingrays, and fish before the water got too crowded with other snorkelers. I would definitely recommend Absolute Adventures for your excursions and would not hesitate to book an excursion with them in the future.

We booked only days before our vacation. Claire was super responsive on emails! Chris was punctual, friendly & knowledgeable. I loved the fact that he brought bug repellent & umbrellas when we visited the Tulum ruins. Our kiddos were growing impatient at the end of the tour & were ecstatic when he offered an ice cream stop at the end. Chris was super patient with our young children while we snorkeled with turtles.

Had a very good tour of the ruins, knowledgeable helpful staff with excellent English and lots of historic knowledge. Juan was the guide & Misael the driver. They were great! Tour included a delicious lunch in Valladolid & a trip to a gorgeous cenote.

Our group of 26 booked two tours with Absolute Adventures. One was to the Tulum Ruins / Cenote snorkeling and and the other was to snorkel with the sea turtles. Chris and Claire were very pleasant to deal with and answered all of my emails and questions during the booking process. Chris recommended an early start for both of the tours and I couldn't be more happier with that decision, both tours were getting very busy when we were actually leaving. We were able to take beautiful pictures at the Tulum without a lot of other people in the background. I would recommend bringing mosquito repellent with you to the ruins. The walk from the parking lot to the front gate was brutal. We were very grateful to Claire for assisting one of the group who was a little afraid of going in the water with the turtles. Claire took her in by herself and was able to get her past her fears. Who highly recommend using Absolute.

Just to keep it short, Chris, 1/2 owner in Absolute Adventures, was great for our two kids and the two adults. Super knowledgeable, fun, and entertaining. We did the Tulum ruins tour, Akumal snorkeling, and cenote experience. I won't give out any details, but he gets the adrenalin rushing on part of the cenote tour. And being a certified cave and open water diver, he's very comfortable to be around in the water.

Claire did a great job of meeting my requests and arranging our family tour of the Riveria Maya. She kept us off the beaten path so we weren't with the masses of tourists. We stayed in Cozumel but I wanted the kids to see more of the area...with Claire's recommendation for an early start, they met us at the ferry in Playa del Carmen and we had already toured Tulum as the bus loads of tourists were unloading and standing in line ( great call Claire!), then we had a very refreshing swim /snorkel tour of an amazing, uncrowded underground Ceynote, great lunch in a local Mayan restaurant and then we snorkeled with the turtles. We had our 2 adult children & 1 daughter in law (all with very different personalities and temperaments, I might add) 1 teen and one 7 year old. Thank you Claire for making it such a special day...you worked hard to make sure everyone was accommodated (especially making sure everyone saw turtles, especially the 7 year old!) ... everyone is still having a hard time deciding which activity they liked the most!

I have a 3 yr old and 1 yr old. We wanted to visit Coba and Tulum but wanted to avoid a large tour group because we really didn't need the dirty looks when our kids had the inevitable tantrums. Found Absolute Adventure right here on TripAdvisor, went directly to their website and saw that they had one of the lowest prices around for a private tour group. Our resort was gonna charge us almost $1,000 for a private tour. Absolute Adventure's prices were waaaaay more reasonable. Chris and his partner Clara picked us up and we had a wonderful experience at Coba and Tulum. They were sooo helpful and so understanding and patient with us and our kids. At Coba, we realized we didn't have enough change to tip the pedi-cab cyclist and they took care of it. Clara even took hold of the stroller and pushed it around and kept my daughter entertained so that I could listen to the tour guides. And then when my daughter fell asleep in the stroller, she STAYED with the stroller while we walked further on to complete the tour. Who does that?? These guys do, because they're super awesome! Five stars all the way. And I will definitely be looking them up to go diving the next time I'm in Playa Del Carmen. Having the owners accompany you on the tours just makes the experience so much more personable! Thanks again Chris for a great time! And thanks for sharing your M&M's with my kids 🙂

You guys can't go wrong with doing tours with Chris! Absolutely fun!! My girlfriend and I are planning another trip and definitely going to see him again!
