We did a private tour to Chichen Itza and it was brilliant. The minibus was really comfortable and stocked with cold drinks and snacks. We stopped along the way for comfort breaks and the journey was nicely broken up by our guide Luis, who shared videos and history of the region and some really interesting wider facts about Mexico. Luis was a brilliant guide and he was so knowledgable about the site and the wildlife and fauna. We really recommend an early hotel pick up in order to get to Chichen Itza when it opens - much less crowded and comfortable temperature-wise. We also stopped off in Valladolid for some authentic Mexican food and a small tour. We cannot thank our guide, Luis and driver, Enrique enough for such a great experience.

We did 3 tours with Absolute Adventure Mexico: 1. Chichen Itza/Valladolid/Cenote, Tulum/Coba/Cenote, Akumal Bay/Cenote. All three were awesome! We had the same tour guide Luis, who was an incredible tour guide. He had deep knowledge of the sites, provided interesting insights and context for what we were seeing, and doubled as an Instagram influencer, setting up photos for us, making sure we captured these great memories. He had great energy throughout each tour and had great recommendations on things to see during the rest of our trip. Our drivers (Omar and Rodrigo) were great. The drives were safe and secure. We always had water and a cool car waiting for us, and everything was planned and timed perfectly. It was really great to see three different Mayan sites, they were all very unique and different. We debated stacking so many sites, but in the end it was well worth it. Also, since we did all tours with the same team, they helped us select Cenotes that were all very distinct, allowing us to go into partially open, fully enclosed, and cave-connected Cenotes so we saw a great variety of these natural wonders. All the sites were incredible, but my personal recommendation is don't sleep on Coba; there was something so unique about riding bikes through the jungle and coming up on the ruins that you can still hike on and walk through. The turtle watching in Akumal exceeded expectations. Even with the sargassum we saw at least 7 different turtles, various sea-life (including sting rays), and some coral reef. And of course, Chichen Itza is a must as it is so grand and a true icon of the ancient world. We could not have had a better time seeing these sites. I highly recommend Absolute Adventure, and be sure to request Luis!

Had Arturo as our guide and Hugo as our driver, and the whole experience was so much fun! I think being with family and having such a genuine and amazing guide is what makes these adventures even more memorable. Arturo was such a kind and welcoming person throughout the entire experience. We would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for a great guide!

Arturo was an absolutely fantastic guide and made our experience in Tulum one we’ll genuinely remember. What we appreciated most was how personal the entire experience felt. It was just our family, so we never felt rushed or like we were being moved through a typical crowded tour. Arturo took the time to talk with us, answer our questions, share his knowledge about the area, and make sure everyone was having a good time. Beyond being a great guide, he was simply a really down-to-earth, kind, and genuine person. By the end of the experience, it felt much more like we had spent the day exploring Tulum with someone we knew rather than just being taken around on a tour. If you’re booking with Absolute Adventure, I couldn’t recommend Arturo enough. He made an already beautiful experience that much better, and he absolutely deserves the recognition. We’re very grateful we got to have him as our guide!

Amazing experience. Our driver, Rodrigo gave us an easy travel experience and our guide, Luis was very intelligent on the area and the history. We did the tour with Chichen Itza, Cenote, and Valladolid. The restaurant in Valladolid was exceptional, thanks to Luis’ recommendations Would absolutely recommend this group for a great day trip!

We had such a wonderful trip with guide Eddy and driver Rodrigo. Rodrigo was so kind to our boys and we felt in safe hands with him. Eddy our guide, was so personable and exceedingly knowledgeable about the history of the area. He answered our questions as they arose and was a joy to converse with. The private tour was really worth it since we get to both sites before rush hours, this enhances the experience so much! Luis made sure to inform us of fascinating historical facts but also took care of us like his own friends thinking about every detail so we don’t miss out and take the best pictures! We had a great time with our guide Arturo. Swimming in the cenote was amazing after the visit to Tulum. We were able to bring our whole group of 15 people and they allowed our 4 year old to go on the tour and swim.

Luis was our guide with driver Rodrigo to visit Chichen Itza and Cenote. Luis was awesome engaging us the entire way in facts, history, culture and conservation. We were a large group from the U.S. of varied ages and it was fun for all. The lunch choice was excellent and served us traditional choices and also accommodated kids choices. I really enjoyed Luis’s focus on conservation and focus on local flora and fauna. Rodrigo was a safe driver and very patient. I highly recommend the company and Luis/Rodrigo.

Trip1: Chichen Itza ruins and Valladolid Absolutely superb day visiting Chichen Itza with Arturo. Starting early in the morning to beat the crowds and the heat, we were picked up at our hotel (thanks to driver Enrique). It was a long journey but we had stops on the way. Arturo was very knowledgeable, giving us lots of facts, highlighting the key areas, explaining the main gods, customs and way of life. Lucky enough to see woodpecker and motmot birds too. As we left the site was crammed with visitors so we were thankful we had the early start. Had a delicious lunch in Valladolid with recommended typical Yucatan cuisine. Fabulous trip, waited a lifetime to see Chichen Itza and was not disappointed. This is a well organised day out and we were really looked after. We have 2 more trips booked this week. Very highly recommend booking with Absolute Adventure Mexico. Trip 2: Tequila Tour in the Mayan Jungle with Tulum ruins We had the same guide for Tulum that we had for Chichen Itza which was brilliant as he told us about the differences in the old cities and the building types. It was an amazing place. We also got there super early and were the first on site which made for amazing photos and no crowds. They do seem to factor in the best times for heat and crowds. Lunch was really fresh at a lovely restaurant in the jungle. We also did the tequila/mezcal tasting over lunch with insight given into the different types of tequila/mezcal. Another amazing tour. Trip 3: Coba Express Took our 3rd trip with Absolute Adventure Mexico during our stay, and what a memorable trip they made. Coba is stunning, the guides are full of knowledge about the history, language and culture. Loved the tricycle taxi around the site, really helps in the heat. Amazing to be able to climb the main temple and see the view across the jungle, well worth the sore knees. Once again the early start proved to be the best tip. Less crowded here than other sites. Guide also told us about newer sites and finds so cannot wait to visit Mexico again. Don't hesitate to book these tours, excellent value and you are well taken care of.

My husband and I absolutely loved our private tour. Our tour guide, Luis, taught us so much about Mayan history and the geography and cenotes. We enjoyed seeing the ruins and learning about how the Mayans created their calendars/kept track of time. Also, Luis was a great photographer and took so many good pictures of us and the surrounding landscape. Snorkeling in the cenotes was amazing and we even got to explore some caves, including a bat cave. Lunch was delicious. Snorkeling with the sea turtles was also a highlight of the tour. It was so cute when they swam up and popped their little heads out of the water. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, and request Luis, he’s the best! Our driver, Omar, was also great. He stopped on the way back to our hotel so we could get ice cream. Both Luis and Omar were extremely friendly and professional, it was a great day!
